The Academy for Democracy

The Academy for Democracy is a network of organizations focusing on civic training and educational programmes in the field of democracy and human rights.

The red is made up of around thirty organizations: NGOs, schools, colleges, private firms, unions, local governments and public services. They cooperate, both on a national and international level, in developing theoretical and practical tools for deepening democracy and respect for human rights

The Academy for Democracy was initiated in 1993 by Ordfront, a cultural association with more than 9 000 individual members. Ordfront runs an independent publishing house and one of Sweden’s largest monthly magazines for social and cultural issues.
